ROBERT SAYRE Obituary
ROBERT MARION SAYRE, SR.
Of Falls Church, VA, a former U. S. Ambassador to Uruguay, Panama, and to Brazil who also served as Department of State Inspector General and Director of Counter-Terrorism, died March 31, 2016 at Fairfax Hospital. He was 91. Ambassador Sayre was born in Hillsboro, OR, and served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elora Amanda Moynihan Sayre; children, Marian Sayre-Oreska, Robert Sayre, Jr., Daniel Sayre, their spouses and by nine grandchildren. A funeral service and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
