Roland Irvin Tapscott, 91, of Warrenton, Virginia, passed on January 7, 2014, at his residence in Warrenton. Roland was a honorably discharged US Marine Corps veteran and served in World War II. He later retired as a Supply Officer for the Federal Government. Roland is survived by one son, Adrian S. Tapscott of Warrenton, Virginia; one brother, Stanley W. Tapscott (Patricia) of Washington, DC; one step-daughter, Faye Mason of Washington, DC, three step sons: James Brooks of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Norman Brooks of Adelphi, Maryland, Geoffrey Brooks of Mitchellville, Maryland; and two grandsons, Jarrett and Brandon Guest. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon service time at Faith Christian Church, 6472 Duhollow Road, Warrenton, Virginia, 20187. Rev. Matthew A. Zimmerman, Jr., will deliver the eulogy. Interment with military honors will be in Warrenton Cemetery. Donations may be made in Roland Tapscott's memory to Montford Point Marine Association, Quantico Chapter 32, P.O. Box 1356, Stafford, Virginia, 22555, .
