RONALD F. LYON  

Ronald F. Lyon of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away June 21, 2014, at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, Arlington, Virginia after a brief illness. He was born September 8, 1941 in Elmira, New York, to the late Cornelius F. Lyon, Sr. and Irene Lyon.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He received a masters degree in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University and retired from both the Department of Information Technology, Fairfax County Government, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark office, Alexandria, Virginia.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being involved in his grandson's school and sports activities, and, more recently, they enjoyed playing golf together.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jean; daughter, Leslie Lyon and grandson, Kai Bermudez, both of Arlington, Virginia and a brother and sister.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, Virginia with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. led by the American Legion Post 177 on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Interment in Fairfax Memorial Park immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, 4715 15th St. North, Arlington, Virginia 22205.
