BESS, Dr. ROSE E.

On May 27, 2006, DR. ROSE E. BESS entered into Eternal rest. Dr. Bess was the Pastor of the Independent Church of God in Wasington, D.C. and Overseer of the New Mt. Zion Church of God, Ruach Temple and New Birth Church of God. She is survived by one son, Carlton McCoy and one daughter, Cynthia Ross. She raised three grandchildren, Paul Avery (Jocelyn), Topaz and Carlton McCoy, Jr. She is also survived by 10 additional grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six sisters, Dr. Sallie Bruce, Pastor Eva Ross, Eldress Roberta Butler-Graham (Dockery), Eldress Claritha Stewart (Monroe), Louise Avery and Mary Moten; three brothers, Samuel Avery (Pastor Delores Avery), John Avery (Pastor Emma Avery) and Joseph Avery, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call on Friday, June 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Masters Touch Church, 901 Southern Ave., Oxon Hill, MD. On Saturday, June 3, the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time 10 a.m. at the National Church of God, 6700 Bock Rd., Ft. Washington, MD, Dr. Steve Lowery, Pastor. Bishop John Taylor, Eulogist and Dr. Leander Coles, officiating. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. TRI-STATE FUNERAL SERVICES.
