ROY D.L. FAIRCLOTH (Age 66)
Died on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Potomac Falls, VA.
Born on December 25, 1946 in Fairfax, Virginia to Maxine Lora Shaw Faircloth and Willis D. Faircloth. He is survived by his beloved wife Lorrie, his children Roy, Sam and Cherah, her children Kelly and J.P. and 12 bright and beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death and now reunited with his daughter Katie.
Roy attended Fairfax High School, apprenticed under his father W.D. in the plumbing trade, later became a Class A contractor earning Master licenses in every specialty construction trade and was among the first plumbers to achieve licensure in gas work in Virginia. He established and cultivated his business building many unique custom homes and leaving a legacy of old world craftsmanship, hard work, dedication and a true love of building.
Roy was a licensed pilot, golf enthusiast, traveler, real estate entrepreneur, classic car collector and a true animal lover. The latter of which, his dogs, Lady and Truder were considered members of the family. Roy was as comfortable discussing the stock market as he was turning a wrench. He was a simple man with the showmanship of peacock and the humility of a pauper. He will truly be missed.
The family will receive visitors at Everly Funeral Home located at 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012. The funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17 at Everly Funeral Home followed by interment at National Memorial Cemetery.
