S. MARK ADELMAN
May 23, 1935 - February 4, 2013
S. Mark Adelman, 77, of McLean, VA, passed away February 4, 2013. Born in Chicago, IL on May 23, 1935, the son of Deborah and Charles Adelman, he was a devoted husband, beloved father and avid fan of the Washington Redskins.
Mark served in the U.S. Army
from 1952- 1954. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.A. in Economics, 1959, and M.A. in Government, 1965. Mark was a founding member of the Kappa Tetarton chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa at SIU. He spent most of professional career in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, PA and Baltimore, MD as a Health Economist and Planner before retiring to Bradenton, FL. After his wife's passing, he returned to Washington DC area.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and beloved wife Patricia Davis Adelman. Survivors include his daughters Susan Foster (Luke) of Vienna, Lisa Revilla of Charlotte, Kristen Loesel (Jim) of Denver, Karen Trubisky (Mark) of Dallas; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter and his sister Marlene Chihoski of Chicago.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 9 at the Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the
