SELIG SEIDENMAN HARRISON  
Selig Seidenman Harrison, 89, a journalist, scholar and author who specialized in U.S. relations with South and East Asia, died December 30, 2016 of myelodysplasia in Camden, Maine. He was The Washington Post Bureau Chief in New Delhi and Tokyo in the 1960s and 1970s and also worked for the Associated Press, New Republic, Carnegie Endowment, Brookings Institution, and Center for International Policy. His books included India: The Most Dangerous Decades, Out of Afghanistan: The Inside Story of the Soviet Withdrawal, and Korean Endgame, and he was credited with helping to arrange the 1994 nuclear deal with North Korea called the "Agreed Framework". He is survived by his brother, Mark; son, Cole and daughter, Kathreen and grandchildren, Kathreen, Gabriela, Fiona and Gavin. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Harrison.
