FOOTE SHARON McCENEY FOOTE On December 6, 2012. Formerly of Silver Spring, Maryland, residing in Paso Robles, CA. Sharon was born in Washington, DC on May 19, 1946 to Eleanor Adams Dickmann and the late B. Houston McCeney. Her early life was spent in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she attended elementary and secondary schools, graduating from Northwood High School in 1964. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Maryland. In 1965, she married William Neil Coggins and they began a family in 1967 in Silver Spring, with the birth of their first child, Douglas Randolph. In 1971, their daughter, Carolyn Anne was born, followed by their daughter, Susan Elizabeth in 1973. In 1981, she moved to Palos Verdes, California and she resided in California for the next 31 years. She married George Michael Foote in 1993 and they had many happy years together, traveling and enjoying their children and grandchildren. In her middle life, she returned to finish her undergraduate studies at Antioch University in Los Angeles, graduating with honors. Sharon and George spent much time with their children and grandchildren. Family was the center of her life. She and George traveled extensively to be a constant part of their family's life. She was a very creative woman, an accomplished writer, enthusiastic painter and she loved gardening and reading. Sharon selflessly gave her guidance, mentoring and friendship to many people. Her empathy and caring for her family and others throughout her life was the hallmark of her character. Her immediate survivors include her husband, George Michael Foote, her children, Douglas R. Coggins (Brenda) of Ijamsville, MD, Carolyn A. Coggins (John Digiacinto) of Eugene, OR, Susan E. Jones (Brian) of Paso Robles, CA, her stepsons Matthew A. Foote (Marci) of Richmond, VA and Michael D. Foote of Scottsdale, AZ, and her much beloved grandchildren, Jess Alise Coggins, Clayton Neil Coggins, Margaret Anne Digiacinto, Olivia Anne Jones, Alice Elizabeth Digiacinto, Lily Jane Digiacinto , Hayden Wayne Jones, Molly Grace Foote, Lucy Jane Foote and Liam Alexander Foote. She is also survived by her mother, Eleanor Adams Dickmann and sisters Susan M. Anderson, Sandra M. Bastian, Hillary D. Lindeman , Lauri D. Black and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
