Shirley Nathanson April passed away on August 21, 2011. Born June 22, 1933 in Washington, D.C. She lived in Bethany Beach, DE and worked with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration until retiring. Beloved wife for 55 years to Reuben April. Devoted mother of Michael (Linda), Jeffrey (Andrea), and Alan April. Adored grandmother of Daniel, Jonathan, Deborah, Ashley, Alexa, and Jacob April. Loving sister of Ellen Nathanson (Robert) Cook, and Marcia Nathanson (Edwin) Shonfeld, and the late Francine Marks and Laura Jaye. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday August 23 at King David Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, VA. Shiva will be Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30 p.m. at the home of Michael and Linda April. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Services will be under the direction of Edward Sagel Funeral Direction.
