A long-time resident of Falls Church, Virginia, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Arlington, Virginia. Morin was born in 1946 in Portland, Maine, to Edward and Elvi Morin. She graduated from South Portland High School class of '64 and the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham (now USM) class of '68.Until her retirement in 2012, she worked for the Transportation Research Board of The National Academies in Washington, DC. Prior to that, she served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa. She is survived by her mother, Elvi Morin of Portland, Maine, brother Jeff Morin of Arlington, Virginia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be buried in the Finnish Cemetery in West Paris, Maine, at a family service. Donations may be made to the Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine, Box 294, West Paris, ME 04289.
