Steve was a graduate of Oakton High School where he played baseball and basketball. He excelled at baseball in adult leagues in Northern Virginia through 2012 and coached youth basketball and softball teams. Steve learned to fish from his grandfather at a young age and developed a lifelong love of fishing that he shared with his children over the years. I was so sad to get this news. I worked with Steve for many years at CSC. Even though we moved to different organizations, we kept in touch. Steve was a genuine person, who cared deeply about his family and his work. He was very intelligent, ethical, and always added great value to whatever he was assigned. Steve will be greatly missed. Your family is in my prayers.

My condolences to the Hankinson family. Having not met Steve did not mean I did not him, I had the privilege of working with his father and know first hand the strong moral character, integrity, and devotion to family that Dick has would have passed to Steve and on to his children. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you work through the tough days. Take comfort knowing Steve will always be there for you; you can talk to him and you will experience his presence.
