Peacefully, on Thursday, March 29, 2012, in Silver Spring, MD, with her husband and children by her side, Sylvia was called unto rest by her Lord Jesus Christ. She was the devoted wife for almost 59 years to COL (Ret) Vandy L. Miller; beloved mother of Attorney Kerwin E. Miller, LTC (Ret.) Karen B. Saunders, and Karmen L. Miller (Gregory White); loving grandmother to Markia Sylvia Abdur-Rahman, LaShawn Marie White, Phillip J.K. Brooks, and Vandy Jamal Brooks; and adoring great-grandmother to Mazaani, Mai'Sara, and Munirah She is also survived by a host of other loving relatives. The Family will receive friends, at Twelfth Street Christian Church, 1812 12th Street NW, Washington DC 20009, on Tuesday April 3, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the Homegoing Service Celebration at 11 a.m. Officiated by Reverend Dr. Paul H. Saddler, Senior Pastor. Sylvia will be interned, at, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to SNOWDEN FUNERAL HOME.
