TJ Miller or TJ is one of those names that is forever etched into my mind. TJ's smile, his raspy and commanding voice, his wit, his ability to verbally spar with RD are all woven into many of my childhood memories. Dad and TJ shared a banter that I loved to sit and listen to. They both didn't suffer fools well, were always up for a good time, and both had myriad tales (many of them together) they would recount, stoking the awe of a young boy. TJ broke bread with the Hale's, attended sporting events of the Hale kids, sailed with Pops, and of course bought the infamous Atari 2600 for the Hale kids for Christmas in 1982. And I would be remiss if I did not mention Da's and how great it was to have many lunches there with my father as an adult and hear him talk of how much business he and TJ conducted during their numerous lunches there over the years.
Maybe it was that he was a pilot (and a decorated one at that)maybe it was how he was wiredprobably a bit of both, but I was attracted to his confidence. It always seemed to me that he knew who the heck he was, where he was, and where he wanted to go. I love that.
As the years unfolded I saw less of TJ, but of course received occasional updates from RD. So, when I heard of TJ's ailment I had to visit him. He still had his wit and his distinct manner in which he spoke. Both visits were wonderful trips down memory lane. My father and TJ had their flaws, as we all do, but I'd give almost anything to sit and listen to them chew the fat just one more time. Thank you TJ. God bless, and please rest in peace.

TJ I will carry on our message that we are right sized and those other guys are vertically challenged. I'll miss our lunches and our talks. You were always passionate about your family and your country. My sympathies to Diane and your family.
