VINCENT EMERSON TAYLOR (Age 60)
Of Silver Spring, MD died at home on June 9, 2017, of neuroendocrine / carcinoid tumor cancer. Born and raised in Washington, DC, to music educator, Hortense Pace Taylor and pharmacist, Stephen Taylor, he graduated from St. John's College High School and Oberlin College. Vincent is survived by wife, Suzanne Ludlow and son, Langston Taylor of Silver Spring, MD; and brother, Stephen Taylor of Appleton, WI. He worked as a reporter in Washington DC, Greensboro, NC, Rochester, NY and Montgomery County, MD. Memorial service arrangements are forthcoming.

I had the privilege of working with Vincent at two different publications. He was one of the kindest, savviest, smartest people I’ve ever known. My heart is broken for his family and for all of those who love him.

I was so sorry to hear about Vince's passing. I met him when I started working at the Rochester Gannett Newspapers in 1989. I will never forget his calming presence in the midst of so many newsroom crises.

So sorry for you loss. I worked with Vincent at the Democrat and Chronicle. I will remember him as a gentleman and as a trusted colleague. To live in hearts that love is to never die. Rest in Peace, Vincent.

This is sad news. Vince was a good and decent human being. He and I worked together at the Washington Afro newspaper in the late 70s. In recent years, I would run into him occasionally in the Shepherd Park neighborhood. My condolences to the family.

I first met Vince when we were young reporters at the Gannett Rochester Newspapers. We met again years later and worked together at UCG in Rockville, Maryland. I am heartbroken about the loss of this intelligent, creative and kind and man. My prayers.
