WALTER HARRIS HERSHEY  

Walter Harris Hershey, 88, of Gaithersburg, MD, died on Monday, October 29, 2012, at the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva May Hershey on October 27, 2000.
 
He was retired from the Federal Government in 1980 after 32 years of service. He served in the Army from 1941-1943. He was also active as a part-time freelance photographer, a volunteer fireman with the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Department for over 60 years where he was a life member. He and his wife, Elva, retired to Florida, and lived in both the Ft. Myers and Daytona Beach areas, for less than twenty years.
 
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Hershey, of Gaithersburg, MD.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, at 12 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 9008 Rosemont Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
