William Norman Wells, of Reston, died November 9, 2012, at the Sunrise Senior Living in Reston, Virginia. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Mr. Wells enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served in the World War II campaigns of General George Patton's Third Army in Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, while living in Vienna, Virginia, he continued to serve his Country as an Army Civilian at the Pentagon and then with the U.S. Defense Civil Preparedness Agency. After retirement, he moved to Bradenton, Florida, where in 1999, his wife of 56 years, Martha A. Wells, died. Mr. Wells moved back to Northern Virginia in 2008 to be with his daughter. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with his wife. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie S. (Chuck) Weatherhead, of Herndon, Virginia, two grandsons, Marc M. (April) Cascio of Burke, Virginia, and Ross W. (Lauren) Cascio of Santa Monica, California, and two great-grandchildren, Zoey A. Cascio and Wyatt H. Cascio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, Virginia 20170 on Friday, November 16 at 12 p.m. William will be inurned with his wife at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
