YVONNE H. ANDERSON (Age 83)
Of Clinton, MD, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born in Washington, DC, August 31, 1928. She graduated from Cardozo High School and attended Howard University. She worked for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for 28 years, retiring in 1993. She was an active member of the Cardozo High School Alumni Association, Class of 1946 and a member of the Altar Guild at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel B. Anderson; six sons: Michael (Debra), Darryl, Clinton, Philip, Steven (Judy), and Eric (Tanya); one step-daughter, Loanna, (Michael); twelve grandchildren: Allison, Steven, Simone, Michael, Dylan, Tate, Mason, Erica, Halley, David, Logan and Jalyn; two sisters, Nadine and Bernice; one brother, Barry (Kenisha); two nieces: Trinna and Tanya; three nephews: Joey, Charles, and Carl, and a host of relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 701 Oglethorpe Street, NW Washington, DC 20011. A family visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of floral tributes, the family request that donations be made to either to the Cardozo High School Alumni Association, Class of 1946 or The John T. Walker Center, in care of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.
