Dr. James Franklin Hall, 84, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at The Willows in Blackfoot.
James was born April 16, 1928, in South Charleston, W.Va., to William M. Hall and Thelma Clendenin.
On Jan. 15, 1949, he married Betty Lou Wiegel in Illinois. They have been married for 63 years.
He served his country as an officer in WWII in the Navy and in the Air Force in Korea.
James had eight doctorate degrees. He worked as the dean of Missoula State College, superintendent in Alaska and as principal in Idaho Falls. He was also a licensed minister in the Baptist Church and a member of the Lions Club. In his free time, James enjoyed writing books and fishing, and loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and education.
James is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Hall of Blackfoot; son, William (Donna) Hall of Blackfoot; brother, William "Charlie" Hall; sisters, Peggy and Francis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Hall; brothers, Billie and Jim Hall; and sisters, Joanne, Shellia, Ramona and Loreta.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Blackfoot Senior Center, 20 E. Pacific St. in Blackfoot, officiated by Pastor Mike Eld, under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
