ETHEL SCHNITZER  

On Thursday, March 7, 2013,
ETHEL SCHNITZER, (formerly of Sunny Isles Beach, FL and Chicago, IL) passed away peacefully at her home in Rockville, MD. Born in Lithuania she survived the Holocaust and moved to Chicago after her liberation. Devoted and beloved wife of the late Stephen Schnitzer; beloved mother of Elliot (Evonne) of Chevy Chase, MD and Richard (Francoise) of Guam; cherished sister of Anna Singer and the late Sarah Rice; adored grandmother of Neal, Bryan and David Schnitzer, Deborah (Aaron) Cooper, Rebecca (Aaron) Kotok, Daniel (Alexandra) Schnitzer and Clayton Martin; loving great-grandmother ("GG") of Ella, Gabe, Ruby, Judah, Eden, Asher and Noah; loving relative of Estelle Friedman. Funeral service was held in Chicago. Shiva will be at the home of Elliot and Evonne Schnitzer on Thursday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Jewish Social Service Agency Hospice Care, 200 Wood Hill Road, Rockville, MD 20850 or the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, DC 20024.
