1925 - 2014  

Bernard A. LeBeau, 88, of 130 University Drive, Amherst, MA, a native of Adams, MA, died Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Adams on April 10, 1925, a son of the late Joseph D. and Georgiana E. (Genereux) LeBeau. He graduated from the former Adams High School, and then obtained his Bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College. He later earned two Master's degrees, from Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University.
He was a Professor of English at Emerson Preparatory Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, and later at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, until retiring. He lived in Washington, DC for many years, until moving to Amherst two years ago.
He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the US Army.
He is survived by several nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, as well as his longtime friend, Homero Lurns.
A graveside funeral service will be held at a later date in Maple Street Cemetery, Adams, MA. There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bernard A. LeBeau Scholarship Fund at Bowdoin College, 4100 College Station, Brunswick, ME 04011.
