Of Alexandria, VA on April 6, 2014 at the age of 96. Mary Louise was the beloved wife of the late Charles W. Boyer, Jr. for 57 years before his passing in 2010; caring mother of Linda A. (Donald G.) Laumeister of Wernersville, PA, Ellen R. Boyer of Gainesville, VA, and Kathy (Michel) Schneider of Monroe, NC; dear grandmother of Donna L. Laumeister, Dr. Betsy S. Woodall, Christian Schneider, Caitlin Schneider, and the late Peter A. Laumeister; great-grandmother of two; and sister of the late William Francis Van Horn. Mary Louise studied nursing at Catholic University, and proudly served in the Army Air Force as a flight nurse during World War II, spending time in Germany and Japan. She left the Air Force as a Captain. Mary Louise was an active member of several groups at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church. Friends are welcome on Sunday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Alexandria, VA with reception to follow. Interment with Full Military Honors at a time to be determined at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a military or Catholic .
