GERALD U. SPADETTI  

Long time Arlington resident, Gerald U. Spadetti, 72, of Arlington, Virginia died at home on April 21, 2014. He was the husband of Jane (Wall) Spadetti.
Mr. Spadetti attended St. Thomas Moore catholic elementary school; Kenmore Middle School and Wakefield High School.
He was a member of the WHS basketball team that won the Virginia State championship in 1961.
Mr. Spadetti was awarded the Arlinglon Beffer Sports Club athlete of the year for basketball in 1962. He also was named "All Metropolitan" in the same sport.
Mr. Spadetti attended Shenandoah University and American University.
Mr. Spadetti served in the Marine Corp. from 1966-1968. He had one tour in Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of E5.
Mr. Spadetti had a long career as a military food broker to the military commissaries. He received several "salesman of the Year" awards plus many other awards in this field.
He leaves behind his son, Brian U. Spadetti, daughter-in-law Dorian (Tull) Spadetti; and three grandchildren, Robert, Shane, and Cecelia.
A viewing will be held at Murphy's Funeral Home on Wilson Blvd in Arlington on Thursday, April 24, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held at Little Falls Presbyterian Church and burial at Columbia Gardens in Arlington on Friday, April 25,2014 at 11 a.m.
