MURRAY FORREST FOSS
On Sunday, May 4, 2014, Murray Forrest Foss, of Bethesda, MD. Mr. Foss was born in Providence, RI in a taxi cab. He is a graduate of Boston Latin School, Class of 1935 and Harvard University
, Class of 1940, magna cum laude. He served as Editor of The Survey of Current Business in the 1960's, and was a senior staff economist for the Council of Economic Advisors from 1970-1975. He also was a visiting scholar at The American Enterprise Institute. He co-authored "An Illustrated Guide to the American Economy" with Herbert Stein (1992) and authored "Shiftwork, Capital Hours and Productivity Change" (1997). Surviving is his beloved wife of 72 years Anne Foss; sons Daniel (Carole) and Forrest (Miriam); grandchildren Gilad, Ilana, Aaron, Sarah (Bodie), Yael, Ruth, and Ariella. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Congregation Beth El, 8215 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD. Interment King David Memorial Gardens, Falls, Church, VA. The family will observe shiva at the residence of the late Mr. Foss on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. and at the residence of Forrest Foss on Sunday 7 p.m., Monday 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday 7:30 a.m. Contributions to Congregation Beth El Synagogue.
