Of Morriston, Florida, died on May 6, 2014. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Antoinette, his devoted sister, Marjorie Ward Vacchi (Tom), his brothers, Paul (Pat) and John McGarvey. He was predeceased by his son, Donnie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Bill was born in Washington DC, April 11, 1933, to Marjorie Carlin and William McGarvey. He served in the Korean War and was a long time employee of IBM both in Washington, DC, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. His love of flying and all things aeronautical, despite an accident in a single engine plane, led to many long time friendships at Executive Airport, Ft. Lauderdale, and Williston Airport. He was ever cheerful, optimistic, and a loyal friend. His family will receive friends on May 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Knauff Funeral Home, 512 E. Noble Ave., Williston, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 17353 U.S. 27 Alt., Williston, FL on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11 a.m.
