WILLIAM JASPER MOORE "Bill"
On June 3, 2014, William "Bill" Jasper Moore, 77, of Glen Allen, Va., passed after a very courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born on March 16, 1937, in Washington, DC to Alton Jasper and Eugenia Fealy Moore. He graduated from Gonzaga College High School in 1955 and received a B.A. from Holy Cross College in 1959. On February 11, 1963, he was awarded Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgetown University School of Law and admitted to the District of Columbia Bar August 6, 1964. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Patricia (Rob) Peterson of Rockville, MD, Scott (Debra) Moore and Jennifer Moore of Glen Allen, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Luke Peterson, Erin and Alton Jasper II "A.J." Moore and Dylan and Maddox Moore-Palmer. Bill is also survived by his sister, Eugenia (Joe) Walter; brother-in-law, Jim Batson; sisters-in-law, Betty (Bob) Allen and Lynn (Jake) Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a mortgage banker for over 40 years in both Washington, DC and Virginia. He was first employed by F. W. Berens, Inc., where he worked in both their commercial and residential departments before striking out on his own. He culminated his career with the sale of his company, Multi Family Capital Markets, the number one Section 42 company in the country, to Dynex Corp. Bill loved sports, his favorite teams were the Washington Redskins and the Nationals Baseball Team. He spent many enjoyable hours playing golf with his Senior Men's group at The Dominion Club, where he served as president in 2010. Active in his church until his illness, Bill was the co-chairperson for the building committee which helped to take Shady Grove United Methodist (Glen Allen) from a small church to the beautiful complex of today. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd.
