Of Chantilly, VA, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2014, with her husband, son, and daughter by her side. Born in Raleigh, NC to the late Joseph C. and Martha (Cox) Knox, she grew up in Wilmington, NC.
Nancy was a devoted member of Fairfax Presbyterian Church, serving the mission of the Church in a variety of ways. She also served for over 30 years as a volunteer and, later, board member at Main Street Child Development Center in Fairfax.
Her many friends knew of her devotion to God, family, serving others, and the nation she loved. They also knew of her passion for travel, writing, cooking, and baseball. She always said that she was born to be a grandmother.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles; two children, John Partridge and Jane (Rob) Kaftan; five grandchildren, George, Emma, and Charles Kaftan, and Hannah and James Partridge; and her brother, Joseph (June) Knox, Jr.
On June 12, 2014, a memorial service will be held at the Fairfax Presbyterian Church, 10723 Main Street, Fairfax, VA. 22030, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
