CMSgt. (Ret.) RAY CHARLES PITT (55)  

Formerly of Petersburg, VA entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC.
Ray received his education in the Petersburg Public School System. He graduated from the University of Maryland obtaining a Bachelor's of Science and Master's Degree.
Mr. Pitt retired from the United States Air Force proudly serving for twenty-two years attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was Vice-President with KEYW Corporation, SETA Sector. He was also, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, PHA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Jones-Sanderson; sister, Reverend Christine Robinson and brother, Joseph Pitt.
He leaves to cherish his memories; devoted wife, Tijuana (TJ) Pitt of Germantown, MD; children: Leslie Pitt of Silver Spring, MD, Ray Charles Pitt, Jr. of Dover, DE, Monica Hargraves (Jeremy) of Newport, News, VA, Jasmine Brown of Charlestown, SC, and Dominique Brown of Germantown, MD; sister: Brenda Pitt-Jones of Petersburg, VA; and brothers: Alex Jones of Atlanta, GA, and Richard "Ricky" Sanderson, Jr. of Petersburg, VA; grandchildren: Dana Pitt, DeMarcus Coles, Jada Thomas, Camille Bowser, Romello Pitt, and Santana Hargraves; special nephew, George Pitt; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA. Viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reverend Leroy Evans, Associate Pastor, will officiate. The interment will be held privately at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
In lieu flowers, donations may be made to in Ray's name.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, VA.
