CONSIGLIA R. CLAYDON  (Age 85)
On October 8, 2014 Consiglia "Connie" Ricucci Claydon passed from this life to be with her Lord following a massive stroke. Connie was a lifelong resident of the Washington area, with the exception of a three year residence in Japan with her husband and children. She was a long-time member of the Plymouth Haven Baptist Church in the Mt. Vernon area. She was also an active member for many years of the Waynewood Garden and Women's Clubs as well as a volunteer at the Mt. Vernon Hospital. Connie touched many lives, young and old. Connie was the daughter of Louis and Michelina Ricucci who emigrated to the United States in 1914 from Italy. She was proud of her Italian heritage and the accomplishments of her parents. A visit to her parent's home in the mountains near the Adriatic coast was a high point in her life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Connie is survived by her husband, Robert; son Brian; daughter Janice; daughter-in-law, Marlene; son-in-law, Matthew; and grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Catherine. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Friends may call at the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 where the family will be present on Sunday, October 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 13 at 10 a.m. at Plymouth Haven Baptist Church, 8600 Plymouth Road, Alexandria, VA 22308. Interment will be held at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.

Dear Bob, Janice and Brian,

My deepest condolences. I will always remember how heartwarming and comfortable Connie made me feel.
Although I didn't know her very well in terms of time spent with her; the brief time I did spend with her allowed me to experience her wonderful energy and her soul. That experience is timeless and I will remember her always as a beautiful person.

Dear Uncle Bob, Brian, Janice and extended family,
I loved Aunt Connie very much. She was my dad's baby sister, and I am privileged that my life was connected with hers. I don't remember ever seeing her without a smile, and she had a way of lifting people's spirits with a cheerful voice and a caring word. And her "special" gesture of rubbing my nose, almost every time we met when I was young, makes me smile at this very moment. I loved hearing her stories about Grandma and Grandpa Ricucci, especially the ones which would make me laugh. I will miss her very much and I rejoice that she is in heaven with the Savior she loved so much.
Love to all of you, Christina

My Dearest Uncle and cousins,
I am so very sorry for your pain and grief.
I am broken hearted to never see my beloved Aunt's smiling face again. My dad, (her brother) loved how she could always light up a room with her smile and cheer anyone up with her jokes and laughter. She was always interested in whatever was going on in my life as well as my children and others in the family.
May your memories and God's love help you through this time.
Love, Brenda,Stuart,Matthew & Kristin
