I am deeply saddened by the news of Emilie's passing. We attended Damascus High School together and I visited with Emilie and her family many times. She was my mentor in Algebra 11and several other subjects, always kind, compassionate and helpful. My deepest sympathy to her family. God has and will continue to Bless Emilie.

My thoughts are with you. I admired Emilie for her upbeat, can-do attitude, her willingness to share her extensive knowledge, her general kindness, and her friendship. She will be missed by many! Ginny Pichler, former co-worker.

I did not know Emilie but looking at her photo today in Wash Post I saw her "loving and eccentric" father Harold Knapp who also died too soon at 65.I would agree Harold was "eccentric" but also like Emilie left his mark on all who knew him. I can appreciate the great loss to her family and friends but like her father will never be forgotten by those who knew her I am sure. God Bless Emilie.

Dearest Monty,
No one can imagine the heartbreak you and your family must feel. Knowing you only from the gym, your partner must have been an exceptional person, wife and mom. The glorious things I have read about your beloved Emilie is testament to her giving nature. My thoughts are with you at this difficult and painful time. You are blessed by the wonderful memories and I hope, comforted by those loves ones that surround you.

Emilie was a tremendous advocate of child safety, as well as a warm , caring and supportive person to all.
I'm thankful I had an opportunity to meet her through our Rockville Kiwanis Club.

God Bless Emilie and the Legacy she left for all of us. I found it hard work just setting up the appointments for the car seat program. The calls were constant and many of the people needed special help and some didn't speak English but somehow and in someway Emilie helped them. The actual installing of the car seats was even more taxing but Emilie and the staff she trained got it done. I am glad I got to know her. She even installed seats into my own vehicle for my own grand children and she installed them into my family members vehicles also. May she rest in peace in the arms of the Prince of Peace for ALL Eternity!

Emilie did remarkable work for us as a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor. Despite her many other important roles, she would travel to St Mary's County to teach at Medstar St Mary's Hospital twice a year. She was an excellent mentor and trainer to countless nurses physicians and paramedics. Her teaching style was the gold standard for other PALS instructors. Emilie was a dear friend. I was very fortunate to know her. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to her family.
