AIDA MARKS   (Age 81)  
On Monday, July 3, 2017, of Washington, DC. Beloved wife of 54 years to Ambassador Edward Marks, US Foreign Service (Ret.); daughter of the late Raffi and Gerselia Nercess of Tehran, Iran; sister of Vahe and Edwin Nercess, both residents of Florida. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Aida grew up in Tehran and received her Baccalaureate from the Lycee Razi. Meeting her future husband in Nairobi, Kenya, Aida became an active partner in a diplomatic career for almost four decades, in countries as far apart as Belgium, Sri Lanka, and Zambia. Upon returning permanently to Washington in the 1990s, after the Marks' final assignment at the US Mission to the United Nations in New York, she became a Volunteer at the White House and a real estate agent with the Georgetown office of Long and Foster. She was an active member of her Soorp Khatch Church community. Interment on July 18, 2017 Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 S Glendale Ave., Glendale, CA 91205. A memorial service will be held on August 20, 2017 at Soorp Khatch Armenian Apostolic Church, 4906 Flint Dr, Bethesda, MD 20816 where contributions may be made in lieu of flowers.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
