JUDITH ALNWICK Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 5, 2017.

JUDITH ANN ALNWICK  "Judy" (Age 75)
Of Alexandria died of heart failure on October 25, 2017 with her husband and children at her side. Beloved wife of Colonel Kenneth Alnwick, USAF (Ret.) for 52 years; loving mother of Keith Alnwick, Melanie Crisafulli, and Leslie Rozic; adoring grandmother of Ryan and Lauren Rozic, Carmelo and Francesca Crisafulli, and Charlotte Alnwick; Judith is survived by her sister, Elaine Frank and MSGT. Vernon Steven Jones, USAF (Ret.); and was preceded in death by her father, USAF MSGT. Vernon Jones, her mother, Theogene, and her sister, Kathy. A Florida native and life-long military brat with deployments in Japan, Libya, Thailand and across the United States, Judy was the quintessential Air Force wife: poised, intelligent, beautiful, resourceful and resilient. A graduate of Winthrop College in Rock Hill, South Carolina, she was a talented educator and teacher of French language and literature, having devoted some 53 years to her craft, including instruction in numerous honors and advanced placement courses at Falls Church High School, West Potomac High School and throughout Fairfax County. A visitation will be held for family and friends on November 12, 2017 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home at 520 South Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314. A Memorial Mass will be conducted on November 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. I knew Judy as an excellent French teacher at Falls Church HS where I was a guidance counselor. She was always caring, professional, and as a gifted teacher, her students loved her and were very prepared. She was a superb addition to the faculty.
My sincere condolences to the family.
