Dear King Family,
I'm very sad to hear of the passing of David King. I feel sorry for your loss. I wish that I would have known about his Funeral Service so that I might have had the opportunity to attend and pay my respects to him and his family. I reside in Sacramento now but have been in Maryland with my 93 year old Father for 18 months and could have expressed my feelings of Bro. King to his family in person. I guess that it was not to be. I thought Bro. King to be "above the rim," and of such high caliber as to not "be of this world." He was always a Kind Gentleman to me, in spite of the trials I may have put him through. He seemed to take all his roles in life very seriously, including Father to his very special Children, Husband to his loving Wife, Rosalie, Bishop of his Ward, President of the DC Temple, and an honorable solid citizen of his Church, Community and Country. I am thankful to have known him and hope to be lucky enough to see him again.
Love and best wishes to all, Rich.

I, too, served under President King in the Haiti, Port-Au-Prince mission. I always felt such Christ-Like love from President King and have often used his counsel and example as a bouy in life. I know his long life of service impacted so many of us. In the last conference, Elder Pino shared a story which reminded us that the important thing is not how a man died but how he lived. How blessed I feel to have been a small part of that great life.

We thank David for his service to Utah and the Nation. And to his family who supported him in his service to God and Country. The King family has had a long and rich tradition of Service to Utah, it will not be forgotten.

When I think of the word 'wise' I always think of President David King. I remember countless times sitting in President King's office in Haiti. Someone would ask Pres. King for an update on a particular item or person or missionary and he would pull out his yellow legal pads. I think he had at least 10 - 12! It would take him less than 30 seconds to locate his notes and then he would share his wisdom. It was a privilege to watch his judgement and kindness towards people in all different circumstances - especially me. I was always amazed at how dignified and noble President King could look in such different surroundings and yet his ability to relate to and love those he served was just as clear and magnificent. I sincerely hope that you are well Sister King and I love and miss you and President King.

Dear Rosalie and Family,
Our family first met the King's when we moved into the Kensington Ward when David King was 1st counselor to Drew Chick in the Bishopric in September 1970. We grew to Love David and Rosalie and their family over the many years of our close association. We shall miss David and his deep spirituality and intellect.

Dearest Rosalie and Family,
We were privileged to have had David as a friend and neighbor for many years. He was a gentleman and a scholar. We will miss him, especially at our luncheons in these later years. You can be comforted in knowing that he was a devoted husband father, and grandfather.
Sincerely,
Ralph and Mary Helmsen

I will always hold good memories of the fine example David King set for me and before the world at home and abroad. It was a strength to my testimony to know that such a brilliant and intelligent man could also forcefully bear testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrate throughout his life his firm belief in the principles it espouses. While I was a missionary in Haiti, President and Sister King saved my life. I had a ruptured appendix and had not sought medical attention. They found me and brought me from the provinces to the hospital. This is one example of the depth of gratitude and love I feel towards the Kings. I could never have asked for a better mentor and example and am grateful for their love and service. If not for them, I would not be here, nor would my 5 kids.
