PHELPS DOUGLAS L. PHELPS, SR. Douglas L Phelps Sr., 79, of Woodbridge, VA died February 17, 2010, at Potomac Hospital after a brief illness. Doug retired from the Army after 22 years of service and went on to work for GSA another 20 years. He was an active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church for 42 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Leola. Doug is survived by his son Douglas Jr., of Cary, IL and daughter Jarlene of Annandale, VA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 2 pm to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA. Funeral service is scheduled for 11am, Monday, February 22, 2010 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 14806 Blackburn Rd., Woodbridge. Interment is 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Doug Phelps Memorial Fund c/o Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 14806 Blackburn Rd., Woodbridge, VA 22191.
