HOWARD FRANCES ALBEE HOWARD On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Charlottesville, VA. Daughter of James V. and Daisy Slater Barker, she was born on April 4, 1915, in Petersburg, VA. She worked for Burchel''s Grocery, Woodward and Lothrop, and for more than 40 years for Sonotone of Washington (later the Washington Hearing Corporation) where she retired as Vice President. She was predeceased by husbands, Raymond T. Albee (1952) and Joseph Howard (1984). She is survived by her son David T. Albee of Sperryville, VA; a sister, Bernice B. Rea of Crozet, VA; sister-in-law Elizabeth Barker of Chester, VA; cousin Mary Hope Harcum of Norfolk, VA; nieces, Frances (Melvin) Runzo of Williamsburg, VA, Barbara B. Hull of Virginia Beach, VA, Betty Leigh (George) Price of Spartanburg, SC, Beverly Ann Barker of Richmond, VA, Dorothy (Steve) Walton of Charlottesville, VA, Charlotte Rea of Afton, VA, Dale (Ron) Chervenak of Richmond; nephew James V. (Elizabeth) Barker of Hartfield, VA; and numerous extended family members and legions of friends. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at the Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA, with inurnment immediately following at Arlington National Cemetery.
