OFFUTT THOMAS JEROME OFFUTT, JR. Thomas Jerome Offutt, Jr., 72, loving husband, father, grandfather and dedicated churchman, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday morning, October 23, 2010, in the presence of his beloved Elaine, his wife of 51 years. After being honorable discharged from the Air Force, he returned to Arlington and joined his father in the construction business with Dittmar Company, and later started his own construction business, TJO Company. After a successful career in business he committed his life to his charitable works and his ministries of care and compassion. He returned to school and received a Masters of Divinity degree, with honors, at the age of 70. He served on the Church of God Chaplains Commission Board of Directors, as well as many other boards dedicated to numerous charitable causes. Tom is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter Cynthia Wasyln and her husband Paul of Rixeyville, VA; son Thomas J. Offutt, III and his wife Lara of Arlington, VA; daughter Edith Williams and her husband Michael of Winter Springs, FL; He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Ryan, Zachary, Joseph and Elena Williams of Winter Springs, FL; and Alston, Samuel, Grayson and John Offutt of Arlington, VA. Other surviving relatives include his stepmother, Evelyn Offutt, and his siblings; Anne O. Miller and her husband Dave; Sandra Sampson and her husband Charlie; Prescott Belt and his wife Erika; Betsy Belt and her husband John Carothers; Chantal Dukette and her husband Frank; Mary Offutt and her husband Brian Clough; and Anthony Offutt and his wife Carol. A visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA, from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Friday, October 29, with burial to follow at Columbia Gardens.
