Beverly Kerns Obituary
BEVERLY ANN KERNS (Age 48)
Of Damascus, MD on April 8, 2011 after a courageous 15 year battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Dale Kerns; loving mother of Dale, Jr. (fiance, Jamie Childs), Brooke (fiance, Brad Katzenberger) and Katelyn; adoring grandmother of Brinley. She is also survived by her parents, William and Beverly Ponton; brothers, William Ponton, Jr. and John Ponton; sisters, Constance Higgins and Martine Coleman; their spouses and 11 nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Inurnment will be private. Ms. Kerns every year I get an email reminding me of your memorial and all your kindness and love that you shared with my two younger childern who attended Cedar Grove Elementary. You was such a huge inspiration to so many young children at Cedar Grove. Your big smile and huge heart of love and kindness will never be forgotten. I am so blessed that I got to know you. You are greatly missed!! Prayers to your family!

I followed Bev and her friends during running events. She remains in my thoughts and prayers. The first time we met was at Wheaton Regional Park at a Women's Distance Festival. I had a opportunity to share her comments in my story. The Lord is taking good care of her. My prayers are extended to the family

My sincere sympathies to Bev's family and friends. While I only knew Bev through my work with Critters for the Cure, I was priviledged to learn of her amazing spirit. She is an inspiration not only to those she knew and loved her but to anyone who comes to know about her courageous battle. May God rest her soul and bring comfort to all who will miss her.

I always had so much admiration for Bev. The courage she showed while dealing with the uncertainty, the love and devotion to her family and her wonderful fun loving spirit was evident through and through. Mrs. Kerns was a huge inspiration to my youngest son Armon Cheraghi and my daughter Shayda Cheraghi. They both attended Cedar Grove Elementary School and that is where I had the pleasure in meeting such a wonderful, kind, warm hearted person as Mrs. Kerns. I am very glad that I got to know her and that she played a huge part in my children's learning skills. She will always be remembered for her kindness. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family during this time of their great loss. She always had a smile on her face and I am sure she is still smiling at us today as we all remember what a great person she was and the many lives she inspired. Our heartfelt condolences goes out to her entire family and many friends that had the great opportunity of knowing such a wonderful person. Mrs. Kerns you will be sadly missed by all.

We just learned of the passing of your dear wife, mother, sister and daughter Bevy. My wife and children and I want to tell you how sorry we are, and our sincere condolences go out to the Kearns and Pontons. I have very fond memories of spending time with the Ponton family during the summers at Long Beach Island, New Jersey, and every year we would go to the Ponton's house for 4th of July pool parties. Those memories I will always cherish. I have not seen Bev since my father passed in 1989, but she and the family have often been in my thoughts and prayers since.
I hope that your memories of Bev and her bravery will provide you with comfort at this difficult time.
