Bill Pratt, 79, of Woodbridge, VA, died April 6, 2011 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from complications of dysphasia and Parkinson's disease. A retired Lt. Colonel of the U.S. Army, Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA, and grew up in West Philadelphia until his family moved to Yeadon, PA. He attended Drexel University until he was drafted into the United States Army. Upon his retirement in 1972, he worked for a small engineering company until he started his own small business in 1989. Later in life, Bill was an avid sailor and enjoyed attending baseball games with his daughter.
Loving husband to Mary, who passed in August 2009. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy and his four children, William, Keith, Jeffery and Sarah; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery on August 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. There will be a reception at 1131 S. Edison St., Arlington, VA, immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
