MARY MADELINE WALSH PREBLE

Mary Madeline Walsh Preble, 85, a resident of Annandale, VA, died July 17, 2011 at Leewood Health Center in Annandale. She was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Wixted) Walsh and the late Albert Samuel Walsh formerly of Melrose, MA. A native of Albany, NY, she was a Physical Education teacher, track coach and choreographer at Northwest Catholic High School, West Hartford, CT for fourteen years. In 1976 she moved to Annandale, VA where she was a member of St Michael's Catholic Church and the Ladies Rosary Maker Society. She is survived by her husband, Col. Charles E. Preble, Jr., USA (Ret). of Annandale; two children from a former marriage to the late James D. Holloway formerly of Simsbury, CT: James D. Holloway, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Dallas, TX; Jeanne Holloway of Sulphur Springs, TX; a stepdaughter, Margaret (Preble) Sansone and her husband Paul of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren: Amy (King) Marley and her husband William of Raleigh, NC; Heather Holloway of Glastonbury, CT; Monica Blanchette of Plymouth, CT; Jennifer Blanchette of Bristol, CT; Matthew Blanchette of Waterbury, CT; and Patrick Blanchette of Southington, CT; one step-grandchild: Timothy Sansone of Virginia Beach, VA and four great-grandchildren: Summer Rodriguez of Glastonbury, CT; Mary-Carleton and Catherine Marley of Raleigh, NC; and Aleksia Hill of Glastonbury, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2:45 p.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michael's Lane Annandale Virginia 22003
