ROBERT D. GROSSHANS  

Of Silver Spring, MD died January 4, 2012 at the age of 88 of complications from a fall suffered in July, 2011. Known to many as Bud, and even more as Papa, he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Nordin Grosshans, and his five children and their spouses: Eric and Suze Grosshans of Loveland, CO; Janelle Haskell and Byron Johnson of Arlington, VA; Judd and Catherine Grosshans of Alexandria, VA; Todd and Denise Grosshans of Washington, DC; Kurt and Karin Grosshans of Floyd, VA. and dear family friend Hywel Davies of London, England. He will be especially missed by his six grandchildren and their spouses Dana and David Rixter, Sarah McCarron, Andrew and Michal Haskell, Sally Haskell, Christian Grosshans and Casey Grosshans. Born May 14, 1923 in Kimball, Nebraska to Henry Paul Grosshans and Irma Dredla Grosshans, he was predeceased by his brothers Henry and Gordon and sister Geraldine Potter. A celebration of his life is being planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Shepherd's Table www.shepherdstable.org.
