GEORGE L. MCFADDEN, JR.  
Major General, U.S. Army (Retired)  

On July 24, 2012. The beloved husband of Floretta B. McFadden; devoted father of
Kathleen Dupuis and Kenneth, Robert, George, William and the late Mark McFadden; brother of Bernard and Edward McFadden, Mary Frances DeJohn, Margaret McCormick and the late Anne Lumpp, Joseph, John and Eugene McFadden. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. General McFadden retired from the Army in 1983 after 37 years of service which saw him rise in rank from Private to Major General. He was an acknowledged leader throughout his career, including combat tours in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, he continued to serve in senior executive positions in the private sector and at the U.S. Department of Energy. He finally fully retired in 1997 at which time he enjoyed a life of boating and traveling with Floretta. A Mass of Christian burial was held on July 31, 2012. Interment with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 9 a.m. Friends and family should convene at the Administration Building at 8:30 a.m. Online guestbook at:
