FALKE KENNETH H. FALKE Kenneth Howard Falke, age 71, a husband and father, a grandfather (pap pap) and a great grandfather died February 1, 2013 while inpatient in a local Arlington, Virginia area Hospice. Born July 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. Ken Falke came to Washington from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1961 straight from four years of honorable service in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer to become a Washington, DC Police Officer. Reaching the rank of Sergeant in the Police Department during Washington, DC's toughest of times in the 1960's. Ken left the Police Department two years after his first wife passed away from complications of cancer in 1972 to start his own construction company called G&F associates, later to be renamed FALKE, Inc. Ken retired in the mid 1990's to spend more time with the love of his life, his wife, Maureen Falke and his family. Ken Falke is one of the founding members of the Mount Vernon, Virginia Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Ken's passions were his family, travelling, real estate and boating. Ken's family describes him as loving, selfless and extremely generous. Even until his last days he worried more about his family and others than himself. He was predeceased by his first wife, Genevieve Marie Falke, who died at age 29, his father, Albert Hugo Falke, his mother, Alice Falke and his brother, Albert Falke. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Maureen Falke, four children, Ken Falke, Michael Falke, Debbie Quidley and John Marshall; his sister, Mrs Janet Ennes; his nine grandchildren, Gennavieve Falke, Rhian Falke, Christina Falke, Justin Falke, Morgan Falke, William Falke, Victoria Quidley, Austin Marshall and Zachary Marshall and his great grandson, Troy Paul Keller. On Saturday, February 9, 2013 family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery on 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded warriors at
