CHRISTINE ANN BRUNSWICK
On Monday, February 25, 2013 after a long, courageous battle with breast and cervical cancer; Christine Brunswick died at her home surrounded by her friends and her son. Loving mother of Daniel Kemp (New York City); beloved daughter of Tillie and the late Chester Brunswick (1989); sister of JoAnn Koenig (Frank), Mark (Carol) and Mike (Rhonda) Brunswick. Also survived by many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Christine was Executive Director of the American Bar Association's Tax Section for 25 years. and recipient of the A.B.A. tax Section's 2013 Distinguished Service Award. A longtime breast cancer
advocate, Christine was the Vice President of the National Breast Cancer Coalition from 1991 to the present. She served on numerous national and international panels including the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. and was a delegate to the 1995 United Nations Beijing Women's Conference. She was well known as an activist and leader advocating for breast cancer research policies and funding and testified before several Congressional Committees. Christine was born in Iron River, Michigan on February 27, 1952 and was a graduate of Michigan State University
. A Celebration of Christine's life will be held on Friday, March 1, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the National Women's Democratic Club, 1526 New Hampshire Ave. NW.
