JOSEPH M. HOMES  
JOSEPH M. HOMES (Age 94), the eldest child of Jacob Homes and Minerva Katz Homes died suddenly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. A passionate artist, political activist and conservationist who loved poetry, music, and films, he was a man who lived life in full. He attended the Corcoran School of Art, Yale School of Art and graduated from George Washington University. Joe cared deeply about the world around him and was active in numerous art and political organizations including the Senior Artist Alliance and the Grey Panthers. He is survived by his beloved wife Phyllis Homes; two children, Jon of Washington, DC and A.M. Homes of New York; a granddaugther and sisters Rita Ogrin and Edie Dugoff. He was preceded in death by his sisters Hannah Gerstein, Evelyn Gottlieb and Belle Levin. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. Contributions in his memory may be made to YADDO, P.O. Box 395, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866 or Peace Action, 8630 Fenton Steet, Suite 524, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Arrangements by Hines Rinaldi Funeral Home, Inc., under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington Contract.
