LOUIS HABERSHAM
On Thursday, July 4, 2013, of Greenbelt, MD. He worked as an Engineer for NASA. He is survived by three sisters, Tannie Wood, Edith E. Hall, and Mary A. Coakley; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 12 to 1 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant, SC at a later date. Louis was one of the first people I met when I started working at Goddard and he welcomed me with his ever present smile. We had some fun times after work that I will treasure, and I know that he is missed by his many friends here at Goddard. My prayers go out to his family.

I am a good friend of Steve Etchison and I have never met Louis, however I feel I know him quite well, because Steve has spoken much about him. I would like to send my condolences to the family members of Louis and also to the Etchison family for the lost of such a great family member. When I read all of the tributes of love it really paints a picture of the kind of person Louis was. I know that all of you will miss him, however I must say that he is with a more Great being than us, he is with God our father. I was sad to hear of Lou's passing, he was a great help to me when I started my career with Bendix Field Engineering. Great guy, always smiling and upbeat definitely one of the good people you meet in life! Rest well Lou!

Missing my Cousin Louis so much!! I remember him taking the ride down south with my Uncle Joe. They grew up together and you would think that they were brothers instead of cousins. So often I would elude to calling him Uncle Louis instead of Cousin Louis.
He always had a beautiful smile on his face which was captured in all of the pictures that has been placed in the gallery.
Gone but never forgot.

My! What a hard pill to swallow. Not in a million years would I have thought that I wouldn't get to hear Louis's cheerful laugh greeting me through his phone calls. Louis and I have been friends for over fifty years, and I cannot begin to express the depth of emotions I am feeling now, but this I know: "To be absent from the body is to present with the LORD." I find peace in knowing that Louis is the angel he was here on earth, and he is looking down on us laughing. He loved The Lord, life, family, and friends, and we must continue to live and love unconditionally as Louis did.

I don't even know where to begin! There are so many wonderful things to say about Louis! I had the honor of working next to him for I think about 3 years. In that time I realized that Louis was one of the most kind hearted people I have ever met! I could always count on him for encouraging words and to be uplifted if I was down. Louis and his sisters were raised up on Mary St. We were like extended family members-brothers and sisters. It was a pleasure to see him one more time before his passing with that big smile on his face at the CAB reunion. I still love like a brother, and will always remember you in my heart.

On DOY 191 at 18:52:05, a moment of silence was observed for the remembrance of our fellow co-worker and friend Louis Habersham. He will always be remembered for his positive attitude, smile, and dedication to the EOS Flight Operations Team. Louis will live on in our thoughts and prayers, and will be greatly missed among members of the FOT. During this time of remembrance, no commands were sent to the Terra Spacecraft.
