JAMES YOUNG Obituary
JAMES SANFORD YOUNG
March 2, 1931 - February 11, 2014 Of Indian Head, MD. Dr. Young was born and raised in Washington, DC, attended Washington & Lee University and served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy. He graduated from Duke University Medical School where he met his wife of 56 years, Sara, who died in September 2013. He practiced Internal Medicine in Prince Georges County for more than 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his son, James S. (Susan) Young, Jr.; daughters, Suzanne (Doug) Meeker, Robin (Warren) Deal and Stacey (Ivano) Paternoster; as well as grandchildren, James III, Lisa, Jennifer, David, Ryan, Amy, Nicolo and Sara. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Young Schaeffer and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD (www.kalasfuneralhomes.com) from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charles County.
