Of Fairfax, VA, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. He was born on December 19, 1935 in Spivey, KS to Bernard and Anna (Depenbush) Dick. He was married to Mary Ann McNichol for 49 years and they have three children, Brian, Angela, and Kathryn (Winn), and two grandchildren. He was a loving and kind husband and father. Daniel was a veteran of the Navy, attended Kansas State University and The University of Wisconsin, and served in the Peace Corps. He worked for the Department of State, the Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Land Management at the Department of the Interior. He is survived by his wife and children, and siblings Lucille Sheahan of Wichita, KS, Paul (Aurora) Dick, Martin (Trish) Dick of Spivey, KS, Doreen (David) Reida of Garden Plain, KS; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dick of Halstead, KS and Bernice Dick of Wichita, KS. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lawrence, Leonard, Sylvester, Henry and Alfred Dick, and Angeline (Wilbur) Ingram. Friends may call at Fairfax Memorial Home, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax VA, on Thursday, July 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday July 18, 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity, 6400 Nativity Ln., Burke, VA, with burial immediately following at Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
