JOYCE B. BJORN
Of McLean, VA died on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Loving wife for 56 years of Col. Edward D. Bjorn, USA (Ret.); devoted mother of Janine Bjorn and John (Laura) Bjorn. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Leighton, Ella and Sydney Bjorn. Relatives and friends are invited to Joyce's Life Celebration at MONEY & KING FUNERAL HOME, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Wednesday, October 22 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services and interment will take place at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel, Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Online condolences and fond memories of Joyce, may be offered to the family at:www.moneyandking.com

I'm sorry to learn of Mrs Bjorns passing. She was my 5th grade teacher at Wolfrap (75). She was firm, expected your best, but also had an unspoken caring and kindness as well. I still remember her drive to educate us about the stock market, actually reviewing the business section. I don't think at the time there was an elementary school teacher in the country that would have the chutzpahto go off in that direction, she certainly was impactful! I was fortunate, and will always remember her.
