Dearest Sharon and family -
I was just picking up the phone to call Bob today - September 8, 2015 - just to say hello. I thought I'd Google him just to be able to keep up to date with what was going on in his life ... and I found the Obituary notice. Not only was it a shock to me, but a great loss as well. Bob, as well as you, Sharon, have been what is so rare in today's world - two genuinely wonderful people - mensches.
I salute both of you and, in our Jewish tradition, Sharon, you now have to live for the two of you, so that his name may truly be of blessed memory.
Fondest Love,
Hugo & Lorraine Gerstl

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's death. I got to know Bob through alt.usage.english and eventually got to meet him when he and Sharon came to the UK. He was as lovely in real life as on the newsgroup, where he was always a pleasure to read.
My thoughts go out to all of you at this time.

I would like to add my voice to those who knew Bob through Internet discussions. His messages were witty and wise and I will really miss them. We are lucky to have known him.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at NAVSEA and enjoyed the times I would visit with him to discuss work and he would introduce me to classical music. May he always RIP.

I am very sad to learn of Bob's passing. I knew him only from the internet group alt.usage.english, and never met him in person, but he was such a warm presence and such a knowledgeable constributor that I still felt as if he was a friend. He will be very much missed. My deepest condolences to all his family.

I was so sad to hear of Bob's passing; I knew him from a discussion group about the English language to which we both belonged. He was always very knowledgeable, and frequently very funny. I will remember him with affection.
He and Sharon took my daughter and me to dinner when my daughter started at American University. They introduced us to a coffee shop called Murky Coffee, which was Ruth's favourite place to study over the next few years.
My sympathies to Sharon, and the rest of Bob's family and friends. I hope that their happy memories of his life will bring comfort during this ad and difficult time.

Bob was my friend and colleague. He was a brilliant attorney. He was always kind, and his sense of humor always brought a smile to my face. Rest in peace, my friend. – Tom Frankfurt

The many years I spent working for Bob were such a joy. His immediate grasp of difficult issues, his quick wit, his unconditional love of his family and friends, all come to mind at the loss of my dear friend. My condolences to Sharon, Ben, Rebecca, and the family and friends of this wonderful, wonderful man.

I first met Bob in about 1997, and although we didn't meet in person until probably a decade later, I greatly enjoyed our exchanges on alt.usage.english. His insight and sense of humor made him always one of my favorite people to read.

Sharon, Ben, and Rebecca,
May the Lord wrap his arms around you and give you strength as you deal with the loss of Bob.
He is not gone he is just away till we meet again.
Bob was a true mentor with his wealth of knowledge and great sense of humor. No matter how busy he was he always had an open door and smile to greet me with. It was business then "check out the Grand Kids new videos and pictures". Of course, this was as we were listening to classical music. Everyone loved Bob how could we not, with all his wit and wisdom. He will truly be missed by all.
I was blessed to have worked with him for many years on contractual matters and many FOIA Requests at NAVSEA.
R.I.P. my dear friend. I will truly miss you.
Thanks for the texts and calls during Bob's illness. God bless the entire Lieblich family.

I loved Bob Lieblich as much as one can love somebody met only on the Internet - in a discussion group on English usage. His cool judgement, humanity, and fine sense of humour were a constant delight. We're the richer for his life and the poorer for his going.
