KATHERINE M. McCARTHY (Age 45)
On September 25, 2015 of Alexandria, VA. Beloved daughter of David and Mary McCarthy; sister of Emilie Richey (Matt), Mary Ward (Rick) and Carolyn McCarthy (Randy Pack); aunt of Shannon, Hannah and Ross Ward and Angela Carney (Mark) and the late Madeline Degville. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 30 from 10:30 a.m. until Memorial Mass, 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 35th and O Sts. N.W., Washington, DC. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Red Rover, P.O. Box 18890, Sacramento, CA 95818 or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by DeVol.

I remember Katherine's kindness and intelligence - that she was capable and caring in her nature remains remarkable to me. (I felt it always- with her as students in upper school.)
My prayers are for Katherine's family. I'm one of many in the sadness of the loss of Katherine, remembering her goodness in life.

Katherine was a beautiful person, who enriched all who knew her.She possessed qualities that are easy to forget to practice but she never forgot.
