OFOSU-AMAAH W. PAATII OFOSU-AMAAH W. Paatii Ofosu-Amaah, of Accra, Ghana and Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2016. I knew of Paatii for many years through his elder brother, my mentor and dear friend, Prof. GKA O-Amaah, before actually meeting him. I was leading the British aid programme in Sudan when Paatii took on his Sisyphean labours with the High-Level Panel led by President Mbeki. Given his career, network and friends, I rather feel 'everything has been said but not everyone has said it', which is a helpful stop sign. But let me say that I will always remember the times we spent mentally sparring on Sudan issues passionately, respectfully and, on Paatii's side, always optimistically. The last time was a chance encounter in Abidjan in July 2015. My deepest sympathy for this fathomless loss go to Waafas and their children, and to his siblings and family members. Paatii, rest, and in peace.
